Understanding and Managing Behavioural Differences

Understanding and Managing Behavioral Differences is a one-day course that provides the key concepts of SOCIAL STYLE & Versatility to assist in understanding one's own behavior and recognising and working with the behaviours of others. It then delves deeper into working relationships and the factors that contribute to productivity, morale and effective communication. Participants will learn to identify each of the four SOCIAL STYLEs and the best plans of action to work with and accommodate each. Through exercises, participants will pinpoint areas of tension and understand the reason for backup behaviour, which can ultimately lead to toxic relationships if left unchecked. Your employees will also be able to describe the Versatility dimension and define

sources of social endorsement while identifying the steps to take to increase their Versatility and success at work.

The class instructor leads participants through a series of exercises, video vignettes and facilitated discussion to ensure participants leave the course not only knowing how others see their behaviour and how to identify the SOCIAL STYLE of others, but also with concrete tools to modify their own behaviours to create more positive and productive relationships.

Course Overviews

Improving Managerial Effectiveness with Versatility

The Improving Managerial Effectiveness with Versatility Mastery Program begins by teaching the concepts of TRA COM’s SO CIAL STYLE & Versatility—a proven interpersonal skills model developed 50 years ago and now used throughout theworld to teach people to interact effectively with their co-workers, clients, prospects, direct reports, managers, and leaders. Once participants have a strong understanding of the concepts of the SO CIAL STYLE model and the Versatility model, the course teaches participants how to apply the concepts to real-world workplace situations.

Through exercises and identification techniques, the participants will learn the best method to coach, critique, and praise individual reports using the approach most welcomed by their direct report.

After completion of the Mastery Program, participants will know their own SO CIAL STYLE and how to control their behaviours when interacting with direct reports of varying SO CIAL STYLES . Managers will also know how to anticipate reactions from their direct reports and how to reduce or increase tension in order to create the most productive and effective workplace situations.

Participants will also learn how to increase their Versatility; a concept that TRA COM research has shown to be of great importance to managers and correlates with success in the workplace..
